Dr. Mark Napier provides strategic clinical support to our clients to help them understand the health issues their members are facing and supporting the optimal benefit strategy to address their needs. Dr. Napier is a resource for understanding developing clinical trends in areas like cancer care, gene therapy, and weight loss drugs and how to confront the clinical areas driving health care costs. Dr. Napier is also a resource for complex member issues and optimizing the clinical programs chosen to improve employee health.
Dr. Mark Napier graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in 2000. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Dr. Napier was an attending physician and assistant professor of medicine at Albany Medical College, in Albany, New York. Dr. Napier co-founded and served as medical director for the Multi-specialty Lung Cancer Program at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Napier joined Anthem in 2015 and is a Regional Vice President Medical Director. During the first surge in COVID cases in New York, Dr. Napier returned to working in the intensive care unit on weekends.
